Where did you complete your Health Coaching Training?
I received training as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s world-renowned Professional Training Program in 2009. I have studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle strategies, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s leading health and wellness experts, including Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.

What is the story behind your specialty?
Arriving at this trifecta of Preconception, Pregnancy and Postpartum coaching was really a journey for me. As a women’s wellness coach, I found I loved working most with mamas, babies, and wanna-to-be parents the most.
In the summer of 2009 I started teaching clients how to use the Fertility Awareness Method to naturally improve their fertility, providing healthy pregnancies strategies, birth plan options, along with the nutritional and lifestyle strategies I had always taught in my practice and Bingo! A successful 90-Day preconception program organically came together helping my clients conceive, grow, and birth healthy little babies.
My specialty was completely validated after my own experience of conceiving easily, having a prefect pregnancy and gentle, all-natural home-birth in my mid-thirties, all based on the knowledge and strategies my clients had been implementing for years. Only then did I realize beyond a shadow of a doubt, I had created the perfect formula for making a Healthy Little Baby!
What is your food philosophy and what role does it play in your health coaching?
“You are what you eat!” All foods have energy, and when we consume foods that are lifeless, processed and void of nutrients, we should not be surprised that we lack vitality, good health and energy to live life to the fullest.
Now let’s take this philosophy a step further. As your baby grows in the womb, his only source of energy comes from the quality of the foods you consume. Not only are YOU what you eat BUT so is your BABY.

What brought you to the Los Angeles-area?
My husband is a Mouseketeers at Disney Interactive Media Group. He worked remote from Asheville, NC for nearly two years before we made the decision to move cross-country. Feeling it was time for a change and new adventure we moved to Pasadena in July 2011 20-weeks pregnant! And an adventure it has been but I can honestly say I have found a like-minded “tribe” in Los Angeles (Who would have ever guessed?!) and look forward to serving my new community.
